About Collaborative Divorce

Collaborative Practice is a dispute resolution process where spouses and their attorneys work together cooperatively to negotiate equitable settlements without going to court.

The collaborative team model is an interdisciplinary team approach to divorce, incorporating the three separate disciplines of law, mental health, and financial planning.

One of the most valued aspects of collaborative divorce process is the parenting plan component. This is a favorable alternative to custody hearings that are typically part of family court litigations.

The essence of "Collaborative Practice" is the shared belief of the participants that in typical Family Law matters it is in the best interests of parties and their family to commit themselves to avoiding adversary legal proceedings. We seek to adopt a conflict resolution process that does not rely on a Court imposed solution. The process does, however, rely on an atmosphere of honesty, cooperation, integrity and professionalism geared toward the future well being of the parties and their children.
